The Snows of Kilimanjaro

Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, East Africa is the highest mountain of the continent with permanent snow on top despite its location near the Equator. Increasingly drier climate has lead to extensive snow cover as in this view becoming increasingly rare. In the background you can see Mount Meru and behind the Manyara and Eyasi lakes south of the Ngorongoro Crater.
